Setting
The school is located on 7 acres in residential south Monterrey, called San Pedro, one of the best residential areas of the city 10 minutes to downtown Monterrey, 40 minutes to the International Airport.
Facilities
The school educational complex consists of:
· Campus San Agustin: Two main buildings which include: Preschool Building and Elementary School Building, Administrative Offices, Computer and Multimedia Labs, SciTech Labs, Library (10,000 volumes), Department of Student Services, Teachers Computer Lab, Teachers Lounge, Educational Materials Center, Copy Center, Infirmary, Multi Purpose Building holds Music Room, Art Room and Activity Room. Outdoor facilities include Football Fields, Basketball Courts, Workout Areas, Parking areas.
· Campus Encino: Middle School Building, Football Field, Gym, Department of Student Services, Administrative Offices, Parking areas, Computer and Multimedia Labs, SciTech Labs, Art Room, Research Center, Infirmary.
Enrollment
In this present school year there is an enrollment of 1,718 students, with an average size class of 26 students.
Staff
Our school recruits teachers who hold a BA degree in Education, Psychology or in any Humanistic field. We seek teachers with a strong academic background which demonstrate a deep personal concern for each student’s academic, emotional and social growth.
Staff Development
The school requires all teachers to participate in our year-round In-Service Training Program, which is held during and after school hours, so the performance of all teachers will meet Colegio Ingles standards. As part of the professional development program Colegio Ingles offers a three week Induction and orientation program for the new school year.
Co-Curricular Program
Co-curricular activities are an important part of school life, support the curriculum with a different methodology and effect, and have an education purpose. Through these clubs, students develop personal qualities and form alliances and friendships. In addition, the TEACHER agrees to participate in 6 hours of co-curricular activities each week (4 hours facilitation and 2 hours planning). The working hours can be changed by the SCHOOL'S PRINCIPAL if a change is deemed necessary for the good of the school. Co-curricular activities are offered to students in the following areas after classes resume: Sports (Track & Field, Basketball, Football - not for Overseas Hired International Teachers) Drama, music, art and cultural clubs science, math, United Nations.
